Beware of cherrypicking in the Mental Health industry by therapists

I was just telling this to someone on why I didn't click with certain therapists. Some therapists can't empathize with or help clients that have life experiences that don't fit their personal narrative. I think that a good therapist would know how to be an objective thinker. Each client is going to have their own experience, and sometimes their experience can be very different from the therapist's worldviews.

I have seen therapists ignore blatant evidence as well, when a client is clearly communicating their side of the story. I don't agree that all clients are poor communicators. Sometimes, the therapist isn't fully listening. All of this leads some therapists to say ignorant things that invalidate the client's story.
