Enlisted vs Officer?

I’ve seen so many people say that if you have a degree to go officer, but I don’t know what to do. I’ll graduate next spring with an accounting degree and currently have a 3.6 gpa. But truthfully I don’t think I’ll be competitive for OCS because I have no real leadership experience, and the only work experience I have is my part time retail job.

However I’m very sure that I want to join the coast guard no matter what, and so have been looking into enlisting. I would be interested in being an IS and working in intelligence, or even some type of logistics role given my business degree.

If I do end up enlisting what would I need to do to make myself competitive for OCS if I decide to go the officer route? Also I read somewhere that IS can direct commission? How exactly does that work?
