Biden to cancel up to $10,000 in student debt for most borrowers and $20,000 for Pell recipients

how do they solve the student debt crisis?

A big reason that I'm against this is that it doesn't solve the student debt crisis. It's giving temporary relief to many people, but I believe it sets a terrible precedent and will directly lead to higher college costs and an even worse student debt crisis in the future.

Educated people fill more highly specialized, competitive, and value adding jobs.

I don't think that debt is preventing very many people from filling jobs. It seems like it'd do the opposite.

More Educated people is always a good thing.

This doesn't directly cause more people to become educated, it just makes life easier for the ones that already are. I do think it could cause more people in the future to go to college, but lowering the upfront cost of college is a better way to do that than sporadically forgiving debt later. There's no guarantee that debt forgiveness will happen again, and that's the problem and why this can lead to a much bigger crisis in the future.
