We are pretty much on track for our leaders to just hand over the government to fascists even if their victory is dubious. All the democrats with power are still trying to keep the peace, and they will no doubt delude themselves into thinking there will will be some way to win an election after they get ousted.

Think about it. Do you see Biden as someone who has the capacity to hold is ground in the event of a contested election? Especially if he thinks holding his ground will lead to violence? I think he would rather avoid that. I think they will keep choosing the short term safer route over the long term systemic risk of letting fascists hold the keys to the government.
