She isn't, she is a product of her environment and education. She was homeschooled by a zealous religious convert. It is incredibly hard to break free from our formative training.

It just demonstrates to me how much our paradigms and beliefs affect how we process information. And she is not alone. There are millions of people being called dumb racists who think "I'm not dumb, I'm not racist" and so just attribute that to Democrats being divisive and vile.

She is ignorant and not sophisticated about processing information, but most people aren't. (There's a reason "Ancient Aliens" is popular.) She has a firm belief system that impacts how she makes decisions. And it was one impressed upon her by a parent trying to protect her. It's not even unusual.
