Biden signs executive order to address racial inequity

The cynic in me wants to think that nothing will really change. We've had years and years of promises of improving the lot of people in the villages...and unless I've missed something, nothing substantial has really come of it?

I mean, ADN spent like a decade publishing an extensive history of how women especially in rural areas are murdered and police just straight up ignore that it happens, and despite the awards for it...fuck all has really changed?

I'm also reminded of the ADN article from (I think) last year of the native basketball coach who died in suspicious circumstances in an Anchorage park and the cops were literally like, "Nothing weird happened here. Carry on."

Alaska's and the federal government love to talk about how things are better for indigenous peoples in Alaska than elsewhere, but it's mostly the same shit as everywhere else and I don't think an executive order is going to change this.
