Biden vows to push ban on semiautomatic guns: 'It's just sick'

Just a reminder for everyone, "semiautomatic" describes a weapon that fires a one round with one trigger pull without the need to take an additional action between shots. So a revolver is technically "semiautomatic."

You are wrong. Double action revolvers are not semiautomatic. By definition, a semiautomatic firearm uses the energy of the preceding shot to load the next cartridge into the chamber. This is not how double action revolvers work; the next cartridge is not moved into place in front of the firing pin until the user manually pulls the trigger and causes the cylinder to rotate. Once again, double action revolvers are not semiautomatic. This misconception is so common, even among people who think they're knowledgeable about guns, and I hate it. Please stop posting this nonsense.
