I’ve found certain styles that work really well for me and stuck to them. I always go for a V neckline (but not a deep V). I wear a lot of sheath dresses, sometimes with belts (I particularly love Tahari). I always choose high waisted skinny pants. I almost never wear sleeveless because you can see my bra through the armpit, and certainly never strapless. I’ve completely given up on ever wearing button downs. It’s never, ever going to look good.

So my polished look is usually: a Tahari sheath dress with a belt to highlight my waist. Or a silky V neck top tucked into a pencil skirt. I don’t think pants look as polished on my body type but I might also wear high waisted ankle or skinny pants with a silky V neck top that is not too baggy but not tight.
