Being a fan doesn't mean that you get the show. I agree with your point about the budget and props but I really think that Chris Chibnall doesn't understand the show. And don't get me wrong, he is a good writer. I have seen broadchurch and can definitely say that it was one of the best drama shows I've ever seen. But the point is that it doesn't translate into Doctor Who. I think the show is getting too political. And it has been political in the past but presently it has been getting a wee bit too political for my taste. And the fiasco with Orphan 55 and The Timeless Child is also to be considered. The show is constantly getting bad reviews and has created a split in the industry. That's why I think they don't understand the show properly. And I would more stories like Revolution of the Daleks as it was a step in the right direction.
