I think The Big Lebowski just cured my depression.

Reminds me of a funny story about my first time (of many) watching. Many years ago, my wife and I saw it at home via pay-per-view on DirectTV, and they had showings on different channels starting every half hour. Somehow we tuned into the wrong channel, so it was already 30 minutes into the movie when we started. But the scene we tuned into was the Dude lying on the rug, right before he gets knocked out and goes on his magic carpet ride -- a scene that very much looked like it could have been the opening to a movie. We were so confused by the next scene, though, where the Dude meets the "Big" Lebowski, saying to each other "Who's Lebowski???" After far too long, we realized our mistake.
