Biggest investment mistake?

I worked with a guy who was a millionaire many many years ago. We were both making like 70k a year at the time.

He lived in a basement room he rented off a friend. All he did after work was play video games. Never had a gf (when I knew him, not saying in his life) never went out. I would talk about the parties I went too, the music festivals etc and he would just pester me for more stories all the time of all the crazy shit.. but when I invited him he'd be like "nah I won't spend that much to party for a weekend" or "nah gas costs too much to go" to some massive Bush party (used to go to crown land and have these big Bush parties on the weekends in the summer. Absolute riot).

So he had all this money, drove a 2001 Ford ranger, lived in a rented basement.. and that was it. I mean it's his life and his money.. but through my ups and downs in life.. and they have been utterly wild both ways.. I can honestly say I've lived a crazy life and if I could go back and do it all again (without being able to change anything money wide like the derpy "buy all the bitcoins") I would do it all the same.

None of us make it out alive. You have to take some time to actually live too.
