You can either feel bad for the pain and suffering that led him there, or you can hold him (I’m assuming) accountable as a man () and realize he’s a piece of fucking shit for USING you, a complete stranger, and trying to make you feel complicit in his death

He didn’t consider your feelings, AND THATS WHAT MAKES HIM AN ASSHOLE. His burden is not yours, and he tried to make it yours whether he realizes it or not. Empathizing w his emotional situation is just a thought exercise, as far as you’re concerned he’s an absolutely inconsiderate selfish self-centered piece of shit

I hope he rests in piece and has found healing for all that led him there, but that shit is NOT your problem and I’m sorry he tried to make it yours. Fuck that dude, I hope you’ve found peace with the whole thing (and that your truck was relatively fine and you didn’t lose any miles/hours over it)
