Biggest problem in journalism: Advertising

Good luck, but I wholly disagree with the basis of your argument.

Advertising isn't a problem. Advertising is what created the strongest free press in the world. The problem is twofold, media company executives who don't understand the internet and how media is consumed online and media company executives who don't care about journalism and prefer to leech their companies to death in order to increase profits for shareholders.

Most print companies that don't give away content for free online and maintain a print centric operation are growing.

Most companies that don't act like parasites to the newspapers owned by that company are shrinking at a much slower rate even with bad digital strategies.

Companies that are print centric and maintain decent staffing levels are typically successful and growing.
