Bicycles are a cheap form of transport. Perhaps the cheapest? Bar walking (For running, the shoes are expensive and you'll do far more miles on a pushbike between servicing and replacing parts than you will on running shoes)

Ok, you've got a family and probably other commitments, but if you want to go cycling buy a good brand bike. If you don't, that's fine, find other ways to keep fit.

You don't have to spend thousands on a bike, but these posts where someone expresses the desire to buy a bike but with some vain hope that they don't have to spend the money that a bike costs are just tiresome.

Walmart bikes, like all impossibly cheap "bargains" exist solely to extract money from stupid poor people. i.e someone with little money or nous desires something he can't afford. So the market creates something purporting to be that thing for a price point a poor person can afford. End result : poor person now has even less money and still doesn't have the thing they desired.
