In regards to things being dropped out of hot air balloons.

I once went to a Lady Longhorns Basketball game in Austin, Texas with a friend of mine. That particular game wasn't very well attended so we sat in one end of the stadium in the middle with just a few people scattered around in various seats.

During half-time, there was a small remote control blimp hovering around the seats at the top of the stadium, dropping small packages of something at various points. My friend and I watched as a group of about 10 or so people ran to the areas where the packets were dropped and started scrambling around and pushing each other out of the way to get to the packets. As the blimp came towards my friend and I (no one else was around us) the blimp dropped the packets near us, which landed in the row below where we were seated. I got up to see what was dropped, curious to see what people were clambering over each other to get. It turned out the blimp was dropping packets of hot sauce. I tried a bit of it from one of the packs and it wasn't even that good :(

People will go nuts if free things fall out of the sky.
