Maybe you should look at this another way.

This guy wasn’t fired for being racist. There are LOTS of racists with lots of jobs even now.

This guy was fired because he was so monumentally, mind bogglingly stupid as to put his racism out in the open on the internet, where absolutely everything lives forever.

And it’s not like this asshole did this stuff a decade ago and it’s just now out there. He was saying this shit in 2018 and 2019. He can’t use the “well back then it wasn’t a big deal” excuse. It’s not like this shit popped up over night. He’d known for a couple of years that celebrities and famous people were losing jobs and getting hammered for shit they said and did, and he still made a conscious decision to say stupid racist shit on a podcast for the world to hear.

So don’t think of it as him being fired for being racist, think of it as him being fired for being shockingly stupid.
