I know you’re trying to start a fight but fine I’ll take the bait just once and then turn off replies.

I believe in being treated like a human being. I want equitable treatment for people of color, women, lgbtq people, immigrants, etc. Some people need more systemic help than others and the job of a government should be to support everyone, especially the most historically marginalized. I believe in strong social nets. I believe in WIC, EBT, Medicaid, Medicare. I believe we should strive for universal healthcare, universal basic income, universal housing. Every unhoused person is a sign of a failure of our governments to care for the weakest members who need help. I believe conventional charity absolutely cannot accomplish those things and that there needs to be an effort.

I believe in universal free school breakfast and lunches for kids of all economic backgrounds. I believe in universal college tuition.

I believe in the breakup of huge companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon. I want strong anti-trust laws.

I want every person to have full medical autonomy over their body and that includes transitioning and abortion. Your body, your choice, full stop.

I believe in a smaller military budget and for the billions put to the military to be reduced and put towards education and social networks.

I’m soft on crime. I don’t believe in harsh jail sentences for the majority of crimes. Ideally a prison would be a place of rehabilitation and make better people of the people who go in. At this point though, our jailing system is profoundly damaging to those imprisoned, to their families, and to their communities while they’re in and when they get out.

I think the US should make it easier for people to immigrate. If we are supposed to be the best country in the world, I don’t blame people from impoverished countries believing that and wanting to move here. Seeking asylum isn’t a crime and you have to be in a country to seek asylum from it. I don’t believe in a border crisis at all.

I believe in guns (if you go far enough to the left, you get your guns back) but I can see the logic of “hey if that person didn’t have a gun, they wouldn’t be able to kill 26 people.” Harder to kill 26 people with a knife.

I believe in reducing police budgets and shoring up the budgets of social workers and psychologists to reduce police brutality and violence.

I want stringent police education and honestly I think police need four or more years of training, not weeks to months. Funding for that education in my opinion should be a part of universal college education.

I want more education about implicit and explicit bias.

I believe firmly in religious freedom and that meaning public schools cannot force kids to pray, lead kids in specific prayers, cannot ban clubs on religious reasons, cannot restrict school sponsored activities to those of certain religions or practices. I maintain you can’t just legally discriminate against someone because your religion doesn’t like them. Likewise, a person of one religion shouldn’t be forced to follow the tenets of another.

I believe in progressive taxes and that the like 20 uberwealthy billionaires should pay a lot of taxes to contribute to society to make up for the millions of people they exploit and personally under pay to the point people work full time and are on food stamps (looking directly at Walmart). I want ALL tax cuts for the wealthy reversed. Reagan’s trickle down economics was an abject failure, and I am repulsed that Trump cut taxes for the wealthy and then had a provision to raise taxes on the middle class after five years.

There’s probably more, but it can be genuinely summed up with “we live in a society and being part of a society means caring for the needs of the community.”

I genuinely disagree with almost every single platform Republicans have. I don’t believe in nationalism, I don’t believe in Christian evangelism or that this is a Christian country to be run theocratically, I am anti-fascist, I am anti-racist, I am a feminist. Full stop the Republican Party has done nothing for me but take my rights away and advocate against me and mine.
