Bill Gates on Adapting to a Warmer World

The one important fact hidden in a long read:

and when—as is likely—we hit 2 degrees Celsius of warming,

So we've gone from "we must avoid climate change" in the 70's, to "we must avoid 1.5 degrees of warning", to "we must avoid 2 degrees of warning", to "oh well, guess we'll have to build taller bridges."

As humans, we have long considered ourselves a "superior" species. But it seems we are just like any other animal that is too successful and too dumb to avoid decimating it's own ecosystem.

The only difference between us and other animals is that our ecosystem is the entire planet. Apart from that, we're just doing what any other dumb animal does. We aren't superior at all it seems.
