Bill Gates says Tesla Semi and electric airplanes will 'probably never' work and he is wrong

Bill Gates isn't even a computer programmer of note. People assume he's some kind of genius, but he bought the OS he sold to his first major customer using part of the advance he got to "develop" it (commendable work porting it to another computer - not easy at that time). He lied and conned his way to his first "success." He went on to whine about people being allowed to have access to the source code for programs and how little money he was making on selling his software. His only real innovations were in applying the End User License Agreement to software (previously only applied generally to leased hardware) and arranging all-or-nothing deals with computer manufacturers to give them low-cost Windows OS only if they agreed to exclusively have Windows as the OS on every computer they sold that was capable of running Windows.

His expertise is in raking in money by shafting consumers.

I think it's great that he's decided to give money to charitable causes (although even that has been tainted by allegations that pressure was put on some countries to make favorable deals with Microsoft or risk losing out on any money from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation). But he is not now, and has never been, a genius or even a notable expert in any field other than marketing (if that), and he should probably STFD & STFU when in the presence of people who actually have expertise in the field he's about to open his mouth and be wrong about.
