Bill Gates, who has a net worth of $75 Billion and $900 million dollars says american corporations like Microsoft can't find enough american tech workers; Asks Senate For Infinite Number Of H1Bs Visas to bring more workers. "I don't think there should be any limit"

work visas get revoked until you find a new one. you temp go on b1/2 and stay for up to 6 month or even longer due to existing h1b in limbo. I know it cause I did it. I quit, was in "limbo" for 4 month and then my h1b was renewed by the new company.

the obvious downside is you're only allowed to a full term of 3 + 3 years. which is total bullshit. I mean I can't even express how much of a crappy idea that is. let's bring in skilled workers (I know what you're thinking now but a legit h1b has to have 12 years work experience or 4 years university (not college!) and there has to be proof that the company hiring you actively searched for a US citizens first before hiring h1b) and then after 6 years of them creating jobs, making money, spending money, paying taxes, behaving good because if not you're kicked out, you just have to leave. there's nothing you can do. you could apply for a a work green card but my immigration lawyer said it's easier and more sure to just pay someone for a marriage green card... which is absolutely ridiculous.

hence I do not recommend to anyone to get on h1b to the US, further I do not recommend anyone at all to move to the US. compared to the benefits a skilled worker can receive anywhere in the EU or Asia and the social environment, America looks like a third worked country.

don't get me wrong, I dearly miss my friends, which I got to know for over 6 years, I like the country in all its craziness but I completely disagree with the government and the system it runs. not only in terms of legal immigration but in many other aspects as well (health insurance, higher education etc.) it's progressive to a level that can't never be reached by any other developed country but at the same time in the most basic human areas it lacks so far behind it's incredible it still holds together without a revolution by the 99%.
