Billionaire gives $6 million to super PAC backing Hillary Clinton - "Soros, born in Hungary and the founder of what was once one of the world’s largest hedge funds, is the 26th wealthiest person in the world..."

I think the news networks really aren't giving this the respect it deserves. Soros is one of the richest people in the world because he's extremely good at spotting a smart investment. Find something that everyone else is undervaluing, and make a bet on it.

Lots of people gave money to Hillary when she announced, or when she was way up in the polls. If Soros had given $6m then, it would've gotten attention, but it would've been sharing the attention with a lot of other donations.

Now we're at a point where Hillary is at the lowest she's been in the entire campaign to date. It looks like she's about even with someone who was written off by everyone 6 months ago, and looks like she's probably losing NH. And there's a good chance that she's even behind in fundraising for the last month. If her next month goes as poorly as her last month she's in for a long hard primary, at best.

And just at the absolute lowest moment so far, in comes Soros with a huge and very public contribution. Which is not only a much needed infusion of cash, but also shows that some people are still willing to make a big bet on her.

Now, this might just be a little bump in the road for Clinton, and everything's going to go swimmingly from here on out, or it might be that this is the beginning of the end of her campaign. Both are possible, and $6 million probably isn't enough to change the odds noticeably between those two outcomes.

But if things do turn around from here, who's going to get remembered? Soros the guy who came in when everyone was desperate and made a big showy investment. If we end up with a President Hillary you can be sure that they'll remember who stuck with them when the going got tough. Not only that, but every other democratic candidate running for anything is going to know that if you need someone to help you out when things are tough, that Soros is the guy to go talk to.
