Bit of a morale dilemma

So I've had this car since I turned 16, (4 years ago). It's what I learned to drive stick on. When I got it in was in pretty bad shape, so I've put a lot work time and money into it to get everything working as it should (mostly). However I also have a 2wd ranger, so lately it's been more of a toy around car. About a month ago I thought I was going to be trading in my ranger for something more sporty, a mustang specifically, so I told my friend that his daughter could buy it off me for $500 since I would be filling the void with the new car. Long story short I ended up just deciding to keep the truck, but his daughter has already given me half the money for the car. I'm saving money since I won't be paying for the insurance on the civic, but I still fee attached to it, and catch myself looking back at it every time I leave. I feel like I could let it go if I were to save up and get something like a nicer condition prelude or save up long term for a newer mustang. Just something fun compared to my truck. I still owe 3000 on the truck so I want to get that paid off before buying anymore vehicles. What do you guys think? Should I give back the money plus some change for the troubles? Or start saving up to get something nicer sooner?
