This is Bitcoin evolution! Dev teams need to be diversified.

Holy McFuck. I just realized how screwed Core and Blockstream's roadmap is. They're already down from near 100% to 88% and they've only just put out their first little brick in their plan out there (if it even activates). The longer they stall and the slower Segwit is to deliver scaling, the further their support slides. If there is any problem with Segwit due to its complexity, even assuming it activates, that is all downside for them as well. Finally, of course, that 88% is in large part merely the inertia of people who don't have much of an opinion and just run Core because it's the historical repo, maybe even just fondly remembering Satoshi and Gavin, as well as the people who are eyeing BU but hold out just a little longer for Core to deliver just because of fear of the unknown and basic conservatism. Not a lot Core can do. Even if BU and Classic somehow screw up massively, more will come out of the woodwork - maybe even from China. It doesn't take genius coders to raise the blocksize cap and ignore Segwit.
