LOL! You think you ancestors brought these recipes from Africa??? Yeah lmfao they’re eating andouille, Sauce Picuante, Crawfish etouffe Maque choux, Jambalaya etc in Africa!! And by your logic I’m sure roux isn’t a French word, it was brought here by our African overlords!!

Lmfao you’re delusional if you believe Africans came up with these recipes. Cajun/Creole food was brought here by the French settlers. French cuisine has been in nola long before slavery was abolished. My family originates from Croatia and France and these recipes have been in our family for generations. My great grandma is in her late 90’s and talks all the time about her grandmothers original French andouille gumbo and sauce piquante.

You can’t just change the name of something “soul food” and act like your people are the creators of it.
