I had a similar scenario. Cop pulled me over for going 5 mph under the speed limit late at night. Claimed (falsely) that I was swerving. Asked for my license and registration. I couldn’t find my registration within 10 seconds, so she said “don’t worry about it; I’ll be right back.” When she returned, she had a ticket for not having registration, which by that point I had in my hand. I showed it to the officer and she said “just take it to your court date and you can get it dismissed.” Do you not recognize what a drain you are to the system to pull me over and waste both of our time to issue a meaningless and invalid infraction, which I can then contest in a similar waste of time for the court system, myself, and my company (I was scheduled to work that day)? I try to be fair but if I’m being honest I absolutely hate police and I’m loving every minute of watching their empire burn
