Perks aren’t core gameplay because they weren’t in the first map.

no, like I said in my previous comment, they were in the 2nd map, and in every map since. That makes them very much a core aspect. The first map Nacht, the map where they added zombies on to the end of WaW as an after thought does not define how the entire game has to be played for the next 10 years. Or else, every map would be the same, small, no perks, no pap, nothing to do and very uninteresting and zombies would die out very quickly.

This is how they finally settled on it in BO4 and it was better.

This is not a sentiment shared by many people, including I. How does that sound like a game growing? Changing the core aspects of zombies that people have liked for the better part of 10 years, into a new system that only caters to a much smaller fraction of the player base. That's called the opposite of growing.

It makes no sense to keep buying the same jug perk every game. It's repetitive and boring

It is 100% better than spawning in with Jugg. In Bo4, it's easy mode from the start, from jugg to wraith fire to elixirs and then if all else fails, you just whip out your specialists which you get for free. How does that sound non-repetitive and interesting?

Nice one. I guarantee I can last longer on zombies without jugg than you with jugg. I've played zombies since WaW days, back when it was only 2 hits pre jugg, it wasn't too hard then, it's definitely not too hard now. Bringing back jugg and the original perk system has nothing to do with the game being 'too hard' without it. It's just that the new system sucks.

But hey, treyarch appears to be appealing to the whining part of fan base who want to do the same thing, every game for 10 years! It’s these fans who will guarantee the mode never grows.

There are ways to change the game and make it interesting without ruining the base game that everyone loves. They have definitely made zombies interesting in bo1 - bo2 - bo3. What do you call shangrila, moon, tranzit, mob of the dead, origins, shadows of evil etc. Perks don't define the game, actual map design and interesting game play defines the game. I don't get why changing the perks is the only way to make the game "grow". If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
