Black ppl need to stop bitching about the past and slavery

If that’s true, yeah, it’s an issue. But it’s not related to this. Or maybe we’re misunderstanding each other. By the way, I’m on the fence about reparations, and open to thoughts. I just take issue with the community argument.

My point is, when race-related issues pop up, a bunch of people call for action from “the black community” to address it.

What does that mean? Why are black people supposed to be responsible for policing each other’s behavior and coming to a concensus?

Nobody ever says that about whites. In the wake of a crime by a white person, we talk about mental illness, gun control, poverty, all kinds of other very real factors. I’ve never seen a headline or talking head call for action from “the white community” on anything. We’re talked about as individuals with individual problems and motives, but that same respect is not always given to non-whites. That’s all.
