BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez - Ice Cream

  1. You said the lyrics child friendly nature of the video? Where is the child friendly appeal here? They are all clearly adults here. They do not look like children, they do not act like children. One person riding on a bike with training wheels for 5 seconds in a song does not equal child friendly. They are in a neighborhood because the song is about ice cream, and there is an ice cream truck. Children are not the only ones who eat ice cream. And I honestly find it uncomfortable that you are inferring Kid friendly vibes into a MV that is clearly never been marketed as such.

  2. In Fancy’s case they have actual adults imitating actual high schoolers from popular teen movies. And again, there are suggestive lyrics in the song. HMB may have been controversial but it was very popular and launched Britneys career. It started a genre of pop-ish songs with high teen influence. Ice Cream was never marketed towards CHILDREN, but young adults and probably teenagers. The same as the examples I gave. Teenagers who probably listen to way more sexually explicit songs than this.

  3. I bring up Tekashi69, not because of his past, but of the fact that his songs get hundreds of millions of views and he is a well known rapper. He appeared on a korean competition show where he acted as a ‘mentor’ to the korean teen rappers for an episode. I dont condone his past, so do not for a second think that I am somehow condoning what he did. Thats an absolute leap in logic and is quite frankly offensive.

  4. This song is no more sexual or innapropriate than any other song you will see on the charts in the US. You can be uncomfortable with the video, as that is your right. But calling it kid friendly makes the video sound skeevy when its meant to be cute.
