Blender looks very cool but where are the jobs?

It's not new. It was initially released 21 years ago. I first learned about it and checked it out around 2004, and its fan base then sounded a lot like how they sound now. This is what makes me skeptical of it ever gaining real professional ground. It's going to have a very hard time competeting with studios existing pipelines, artists existing skill sets, and the education system that teaches students the currently dominating apps. Not to mention its stigma in the CG world and the fact that being free gives it a perceived quality, whether justified or not. Their best bet to get more footing is to target brand new studios and smaller ones without any real pipelines, though I'm not going to hold my breath.
