As someone who grew up in that world and managed to escape at 17, allow me to be very fucking clear:

All of those kids are beat with belts, paddles, spoons and whatever else the parents can get their hands on. I do not know of a single female fundie/IFB/IBLP world that has not been physically abused, many to the point of needing medical attention or childrens services.

I was beat so bad that I have permanent facial disfigurement from my stepfather bashing my head into a wall, and multiple broken bones that did get medical attention but I didn’t dare tell the truth about my ribs being broke or my collarbone either, because I knew what would happen if I did.
