Blind people awareness

Sometimes, "to raise awareness" is both. There are plenty of recently discovered, or poorly recognized diseases/disorders that most of the population is unaware of.

Raising awareness of these also allows those who are afflicted by these diseases to find a doctor to get diagnosed and get treated. (On top of the usual "raise money" and raise public awareness of a disability). So the phrase "raise awareness" is an umbrella term.

Example:. I have eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). It screws up my ability to eat/swallow. I've had it since early childhood, but I wasn't diagnosed until an esophageal biopsy at age 39. Since I've always had it, I simply assumed it was normal, and I never sought help for it because "isn't this normal for everyone?"
