bringing back old card backs

lame af. why can't any game have timed exclusive items anymore? every game i play, ffxiv, overwatch and now hearthstone release items associated with a specific time/season and then completely kill anything cool about the items by bringing them back again and again. it's not like card backs are actually difficult to unlock, the time/exclusivity is literally the only interesting thing about them. if an item doesn't have a difficult achievement associated with unlocking/obtaining it and it doesn't actually grant any sort of in-game benefit then the only thing that could make it interesting is to have a specific season associated with it or a narrow time frame that you can obtain it in. otherwise i may as well just mod the game and import whatever card back i want. i don't understand why game designers consistently make this mistake. they may as well just unlock every card back as a baseline on every account, there is absolutely nothing interesting about them any more from a collection/achievement perspective.
