BLM and Cancel-Culture

I think I've replied to over 200 posts today in a genuine effort to engage, so you'd better believe I've been thinking deeply about what each and every person has said.

Like I've said possibly scattered over 3 dozen posts after being accused over and over of different things --- it's the idea that silencing should be used at all that I have an issue with. This isn't just being asked not to speak during their rally -- it extends out to the expectation that you speak out in the exact way they want you to speak out, and if you don't you are part of the problem, and if you do but question ANYTHING you are part of the problem. It silences even the most subtle detractors.

For the 20,000th time, I'm not dismissive of the movement. I can't be more clear than this. My parents are both immigrants. I have brown skin, I am a visible minority. I've experienced prejudice and racism personally. I get it. I hate terrible police and abuse of power. I hate corruption. I hate innocent black people being stopped and searched because of their skin. I am disgusted by murder. Every single BLM sentiment is one I agree with deeply.

...I just don't think it's a good idea to create an environment where any disagreement with the party line makes you THE ENEMY, potentially ruining relationships and careers, driving people underground to fester and further radicalize their potentially incorrect ideas.
