Block China’s seat on human rights council over Uighurs, urges Lisa Nandy

The UN is supposed to stand for shared values, they're supposed to do as their name suggests and unite nations through mutual agreement and understanding. People complain about the UN because they don't want the mutual agreement they unite under dragging down to the standards of the worst dictatorship at the table. People think the UN does nothing because it does do nothing, and it does nothing because it's hamstrung by a minority of despots. Case in point, what possible good can be expected from a human rights council that's hamstrung by a dictatorship with a veto and a vested interest in not calling out some of the biggest abuses in human rights since the second world war?
