[Bloodmatch] Hulk with a red lantern ring VS Superman

The fight: Hulk was nearly beyond thought. Ever since he had acquired this strange ring, all that had lived inside him was rage. His grief over losing Caiera seemed to feed the ring, and it in turn transferred rage to him. Rage, and power like he had never known. And he focused all of that at the man standing quietly in front of him. The ring told him that this man was who had taken his loved from him, and Hulk believed it. With a shout that made the ground shake, hulk charged at Superman.

Superman quickly dodged to the left as Hulk's fist flew toward his face, then jumped back as the behemoth smashed the ground where he had been standing. The ground rippled outward, shock waves large enough to crack planets expanding outward. Superman rushed to the offensive, using his heat vision to blind the Hulk, circling around and slamming into his back. Up, up and far into space Superman carried the Hulk, then suddenly slammed both his fists into his foe's back, sending him hurtling to the ground.

Hulk felt pain as the rocks shredded his skin as he crashed hundreds of miles into the ground. He felt frustration at being unable to even touch his enemy. But most of all, Hulk felt angry. Suddenly his ring glowed, and an expanding sphere of red surrounded him. His descent slowed, then stopped. The rocks were pushed away. Hulk growled as he saw the man flying above him, but suddenly he found himself hurtling threw space towards Superman. If he still had thoughts beyond pain and violence he would have realized it was another benefit of the ring, but as it was he used Superman's surprise to deliver a mighty blow to the stomach, followed by a fist to the face. The man recovered quickly, dodging the next strike and administering a set of blows so fast as to be instantaneous. Hulk coughed, but all that came out was a burning liquid the color of blood. The blows continued to rain down, faster than anything Hulk had ever seen. Hulk's ribs crunched like twigs, his skin tore and blood burst out. A final blow sent Hulk to the surface of the planet once again, but as he fell he clapped his hands. The shock wave passed through superman and destroyed the moon behind him. Superman fell, and Hulk flattened himself so the man of steel would catch up while they were both in the air. Enclosing Superman in a grip strong enough to bend adamantium, squeezing tighter and tighter. Together they collided in a crash that destroyed what was left of the planet.

Superman knew he needed to finish this. The wounds he had given the monster were already fading. And he knew now that that is what this was, a monster. Staring into the murderous eyes merely inches from his own, Superman knew what he had to do. Beams hotter than the sun crossed that small distance, and the Hulk screamed. In an instant red energy constructs rose to block the beams from killing the beast, but Superman wasn't done yet. Freezing breath turned Hulk's arm into solid ice, and a vicious blow shattered the limb just below the elbow. The grip on him gone, Superman truly let loose. He was everywhere at once, blows strong enough to snuff stars falling like rain. Torn flesh desperately tried to knit, but another strike was always there before it could. The problem was, Hulk wouldn't die. In an instant, two hands closed around Superman's head: one green and made of flesh, the other red and made of pure light. Superman had felt the pull of black holes, but that was nothing compared to the force against his skull right now. there was no chance of getting away, the only thing he could do was hope he could cause enough damage to make Hulk release him.

Hulk had stopped feeling the hits land. He knew most of his body was starting to fail, held up only by the light pouring from the ring on his finger, by his rage. He did not even see the man destroying him. All Hulk saw, was his pregnant wife being obliterated. All he heard were her screams. He felt her touch as his hands closed on Superman's head. And then he felt nothing at all as an explosion so bright it burned out his eyes and melted what skin remained on him sent Hulk flying light years away. He had won the fight, but his body was dying. His ring and healing factor were struggling to even keep his heart beating. Hulk's only chance was his rage being great enough to fight even this. I'd give him good odds.

So there you have it. I am of the opinion that Superman would generally beat Hulk, even WBH due to stronger attributes in most areas and a greater plethora of powers. However, the addition of a red lantern ring to someone like the Hulk is a huge powerboost and helps eliminate many of the disadvantages he had. Hulk 6.5/10
