BOA seems to be universally hated here. I would like to make the case, however unpopular it is, that it isnt a bad bank, and can be a great bank to do business through.

The state I live in WA state has an excellent credit union through Boeing. BECU is amazing for low income people in the state. They give 4% interest in checking as well as 6% in savings account.($500 limit)

I can totally see why some people pick credit unions over banks in general.

Also, there has been quite a bit about personal finance I have learnt from coming to this sub. I often have an unpopular opinion here but this sub is still a good place for most anyone to learn. Just dont get me started on the whole buying vs renting argument, which again comes back to your point. The demographics here certainly favor those who are not in stable financial situations.
