I know the WHO adopted this a while ago, but is that true for the DSM?

Because I always viewed gender dysphoria and gender incongruence as not really the same thing ultimately.

Like gender incongruence is the biological misalignment of neurological sex dimorphisms that can then lead to gender dysphoria. But gender dysphoria itself is just the clinical distress caused by that misalignment.

That's why gender incongruence is categorized more as a sexual health condition with other disorders of sexual development, and gender dysphoria, the distress it causes, is categorized as the disorder.

Ultimately the categorization isn't that important, but I would stress that these terms aren't exactly synonymous.
