Is it bold to say mac was my generations Jimi Hendrix?

Mac is my favorite artist, but it would be disrespectful to Hendrix and other more influential rap artists to make the comparison. Kanye would be a more fair comparison IMO. In my opinion, playing many instruments at a basic level isn't that special, and anyone can learn to make beats in a DAW these days.

I also think it's important to know how many people work on a song for it to sound good, but then in the end it can be just listed as "produced by Larry Fisherman" or something and people think he's mad talented.. For example, the song "Buttons" says it's produced under one of Mac's nicknames, but if you look at the actual credits of the song you can see like 12 people who focused on different aspects, played the instruments, engineered the audio, etc, to make it sound good.

Again, I love Mac, but in my opinion it's not a comparison! I think the other comment said it best... If you're a Mac fan, he's just as or more impactful, but we must be objective and respect other artists.
