I agree with your points and I agree with the original intent of feminism, but a movement will be viewed and judged based on the representatives who speak the loudest and unfortunately the majority of the leaders of feminism are the radical man-hating types. Feminism means different things to different people but the ones getting news coverage are the ones shouting “this isn’t the equality we wanted” when Congress makes women have to register for military drafts. When people like that are representing your movement, it’s going to turn a lot of people against your movement.

Besides that I also have a problem with feminism telling women what careers they should pursue. For example, women don’t pursue many STEM fields not because men are keeping them out, but rather because women have different interests and career pursuits than men. But the feminists at the forefront of the movement insist it’s white men who oppress women from pursuing STEM fields.
