Well let's take a look at context here:

Oshie dives after not being hit: caps up 3-1 while being down 3-1 in the series. 10 minutes left in the game.

Bonino dives after not being hit: caps down 2-3 while being down 2-1 in the series with ~2 minutes left in the game.

So here's what I conclude: Already facing elimination with only 1 win, 2 goal lead, plenty of time for the pens to come back after the penalty, in reality not a terribly important game for the pens, they just had to win the next game (which they did)... or the game after that. Bonino put the pens on a powerplay to end the game with only a 1 goal lead and absolutely eliminated the possibility of coming back in the game, caps would subsequently be facing elimination.

But yeah, you should probably keep bitching about a bad call 2 years later after winning 2 cups in the time between.
