Bonnie and Clyde Circa 1933-1934

Exactly, it outran almost every other car out there at the time but another ford v8. It was extremely well popular because of its durability, the fastness and strength of the engine plus the protection of the vehicles body. only bullets that could penetrate the metal frame were armor piercing. they were basically a rolling tank and could knock other cars out of the way easily. John Dillinger, Baby face Nelson among mafia and others preferred this car over the others because of all of this. As of now though, the car would be highly outdated compared to other cars in todays times. Ford broke the way for better/stronger engines over the years when they came out with the flathead v8. Sorry for all the info if it was too much.
