Book Discussion

I thought this memoir would feature short stories similar to that of his occasional late night tweets. All in all though I did enjoy the book. The highlights were definitely when Norm recounted his childhood as it came off as incredibly genuine. In fact all of the things that were, or at least seemed genuine in the novel were the highlights. I do feel as if Norm is still unwilling to let people look into the mind of the real Norm as the book focuses on him being a no gooder through several obviously ficticious stories. We never see the intellectual literature-loving Norm, but I guess this is just the norm. The only depiction of Norm that I truly believed was when he was a child. Most of the writing was top notch. It masterfully painted the inside of my brain as if it were a canvas making it so that I could visualize the scenes with ease. His description- word couplings and whatnot were brilliant. Also, a lot of people were confused about the ghost writer. He isn't real. Just a fictional character. Overall, it was marvelous. I just wish it told and revealed more. 4/5. PS: What the fuck is up with that guy Adam Egret? I heard he jerks off punks under the Queensborough Bridge for $15 a pop. $12 if he's desperate.
