[Books] Silk Trash Fire: Z. R. Ellor’s Crash Course on How (Not) to Write and Market a Book

as i read this i could only wonder, in a city that literally spans the globe, how does one district just "disappear"? if done so magically, how? did it just physically vanish? if it did, how could it reappear after ten thousand years? would the area not have been eventually rebuilt for a different purpose? if the reason is out of respect akin to a memorial ground, what would incline this city to prioritize that over inevitable population expansion and need for resources, ten thousand years after the event occurred? the idea invokes the mental image of a district vanishing and then reappearing, crushing its replacement.

i haven't read the book so maybe there's an explanation somewhere. but why would you even write something with this many holes to fill?
