Borderlands 3 "Won't have microtransactions - Randy Pitchford". But will have purchasable skins as previous borderlands for a small (micro) purchase (transaction).

It's wonderful how the 2 steps forward, 1 step back tactic shaped the whole gaming industry in the past years. "Is just cosmetics, you don't hef to buy!?" Can't do P2W, because it would be public suicide after BF2? Well then let's just sell a huge amount of low effort reskins for too much money, someone is bound to buy it something? Maybe someone even buys the whole catalog for more than the game is worth.

It's nothing new, but for the company higher ups, especially the Take 2 Interactive types who boasted with their huge income from MTX. It's free money, a literal money printer with almost pure profit, so they must be implemented or else they would leave it behind, that's why most AAA games will be infested by them from now on. They will only avoid P2W that's all.
