Borussia Dortmund shares down 5% after fans attack 'commercial club' RB Leipzig - German satire

You have managed to encapsulate everything that pisses me off about American and PL fans who approach the Bundesliga in one comment.

The hate has perhaps gone "too far" thanks to violence but other than that you are completely wrong. They spent more money than iirc the rest of the 2. BL combined last year. There are far more clubs in the former GDR that deserve a 1st league spot before them: Dynamo Dresden, Rostock, 1. FC Union, and tons more.

You may see them as just "purists" but it's the only form of resistance the German fans have to the ridiculous corporate models of ownership teams like Arsenal, City, and Chelsea have. Do you think German fans want their club like Koln to be owned by the UAE that employ mass near-slave labor or have an owner like Kroenke who is content with nothing more than a Europe spot every year instead of actually trying to win the league? Fuck that, I wouldn't even wish that on some club that I hate like Bremen, the fans deserve better and that model only leads to inflated ticket prices and lackluster on-field product.

Your statement that the RB corporate model works better than 50+1 is ridiculous and counter-factual since not only us but Dortmund and Schalke are among the richest clubs in the world, all in the top 15. RB's model of "transferring" players between their various clubs they hold is fake and poisonous to the sport just as I'm sure you would agree that Watford getting players for essentially free from Udinese was since they were owned by the same family.
