That makes no sense. Gaara is not the new tailless tailed beast, he is not stronger than when he had Shukaku in him.

He does have high levels of Chakra, which is undeniable after seeing him in the war. However, consider this; His magnet release was obtained from being the Jinchuuriki of Shukaku. Also consider that Gaara DIED--he was brought back through a jutsu which was never used again. In many ways, his strength does not make a lot of sense either, as he remains one of the FEW characters in Naruto whom can sustain battles from ranged abilities only. I would call that plot armor in a few ways.

Either way, he certainly did not attain his status on his own. He would've likely never reached this peak without having been the son of the Kazekage, as well as the Jinchuuriki of Shukaku.
