So there we were walking down the alley when we hear several low guttural growls nearby. I can see in the darkness the glows of the these large vicious dogs looking right at us. There had to be at least 8 of them! We were surrounded but they left an opening right behind us. I told my friend we had to run that way, so I bolted out but when I turned around I saw he didn't follow. I thought he was frozen in fear but then he raised his arm as if ready to fend them off. The dogs backed off a little but still held their ground. My friend ran out; 5 more dogs showed up slowly towards his direction completely closing him off. I could only watch from the corner, and that's when it happened: they charged at him with their mouths open ready to chomp on his limbs but my friend swung out his arms, dodging everything that came his way. Everything was in slow motion! He yelled out a battle cry as he punched his way out of the circle. Now scared, the dogs knew who the real beast was as they scattered off in different directions. My friend turned to my direction and walked back towards me. It was like something out of a movie watching him walk away from the dogs running off in the background.
