Boss wants me to learn AWS and is offering to buy a udemy course for me. Problem is, I hate video tutorials. I learn best with written tutorials. Any recommendations out there for learning AWS via written tutorials?

Sure. Disclaimer: Tuesday Jack talking

look at your home. The one you have with costly furniture and electronics. How do you secure it ? Well by putting certain rules on your private window and doors in your ‘private’ rooms thru which certain people can enter only if they are given certain access. But how do you go out in ‘public’ ? Well how about having a ‘public’ room and a guard in front of it ? Now think of a post apocalyptic world. Air outside is polluted and all the billionaires ( including the lord of the Aws) left earth for a colony in Mars. You somehow discovered a neighbor 2 miles from your home. You want to build a tunnel to his ‘private’ home but he gave you a condition — he can be your ‘peer’ but another of your ‘peer’ ( another surviving neighbor) can not be his ‘peer’. —— that’s how you learn VPC. Now you want a good storage company. You got somebody who would store anything you want but with a small caveat. His helping hands in storage company can not read any division of shelf. So if you store ‘a rare playboy issue’ at shelf 3 of isle B of Storage tower 666, they have no way of knowing. All they know is that issue of playboy is stored. You would think what the heck. But it helped you to attain a mindful attitude to what you store and those helping men to ‘retrieve’ your ‘object’ by the time you say 3 Mississippi. And lo and behold they can polish your object as if a ‘new’ version, ‘trash’ your old objects to make rooms, even ‘guard’ if some of your friends try to ‘access’ your object with certain permission from you. They can even take a 3D print of your object and ‘cross’ the globe ship it. Only thing that this storage company gets pissed at : If you stored one playboy issue today and in the same shelf/aisle/tower ‘updated’ two more life size poster of Miley twerking and next moment ask one of the helping hand to ‘retrieve’ updated objects. Other than that all shiny —- there is your s3. I can go on with EC2, EMR, Lambda , ACL etc... but it was a pleasure and I would stop.
