Botham Jean was killed. Amber Guyger committed manslaughter.

I'm just very confused and maybe someone can explain it to me - She's being charged with manslaughter right? The definition of manslaughter is:

the crime of killing a human being without malice aforethought, or otherwise in circumstances not amounting to murder.

So that being said - why are we having a trial? Why didn't she plead guilty? We 100% know this happened. Killing someone as a result of misinformation - is still manslaughter. It doesn't matter where your "head was at". You still killed the person, on accident. That's the definition...That's the entire point of the charge. Whether it's misinformation or negligence, it still happened.

I mean I understand that not everyone who kills someone on accident is charged with manslaughter - but it usually involves mechanisms that are not directly designed for killing - like cars, fists, etc. Or firing a gun up in the air and killing someone 5 miles away.

Oh shit, nevermind. She's guilty...

Ok...carry on!
