Bought a 2002 Jamis Dakar with bbs02 from craiglist

I would encourage you to consider stretching your budget to buy something with listed cells from known manufacturers.

While the 15A continuous rating brings you almost to 750w rating at nominal voltage, and the battery will run a BBS02 by the numbers, it's listing "18650" as the cell, which could mean anything from B grade junk to recycled shit they threw in there to maximize profit..

The recommended charging current is really low.. The life cycle estimate is really low.. <15A continuous is kinda ambiguous, but based on the fact that it's a 12AH battery that won't take 30A for more than a split second, it's painting a picture of some very low performance cells.

Personally, I do not consider batteries to be an area where it's worth trying to save a buck. It often means sketchy batteries that are either unsafe or simply won't perform over time.
